Tulbaghia violacea 'Alba' (White Society Garlic) is a tough, low-maintenance clumping evergreen perennial featuring narrow, grassy foliage and long-lasting clusters of fragrant white flowers. Flowers from mid-Spring through to Autumn with flowers on 50cm tall stems. Highly drought-tolerant and low-maintenance. The price is per 20 plants.
Care
- Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade.
- Soil: Moderately fertile, well-drained loamy soil.
- Hardiness: Drought and heat tolerant; tolerates light frost (down to -5°C).
- Care: Low maintenance; trim spent flower stalks to encourage continuous blooming and divide clumps in spring if they become overcrowded.
Uses
- deal for rockeries, edging, or mass planting.
- Great for coastal and water-wise landscapes.
- Perfect for growing in containers and pots on sunny patios or balconies.
- Both the flowers and leaves are edible, adding a peppery, mild garlic flavour to salads and dishes.
