Neomarica northiana is also known as the Brazillian Walking Iris. It is the second most popular neomarica mass planted out in gardens. It has more erect and wider foliage than gracilis. After blooming, the flower stem arches and takes root in the ground, growing into another plant and giving this plant the name 'Walking Iris'.

Flowering: It has attractive white flowers with yellow and brown central markings as shown. The underside of the tepals is yellow. It flowers over a long period from spring.

Height & width: foliage height to 1m and width up to 1m when established.

Care: Grows best in partial shade in rich well drained soils.  Can tolerate light frosts. Moderate watering required during Summer and less through cooler months.

Uses: It is an excellent plant for ground cover, borders, or rockeries in shade or part-shaded areas and hanging baskets. Mass plant for impact along borders and pathways.

Plants available:  The plants offered are offsets from flowering size plants and will establish quickly.
