Neomarica gracilis is also known as the Brazillian Walking Iris. It is the most popular neomarica mass planted out in gardens. After blooming, the flower stem arches and takes root in the ground, growing into another plant and giving this plant the name 'Walking Iris'.
Flowering: It has attractive fragrant flowers with brown central markings and blue and white petals as shown.Flowers from spring to summer.
Height & width: foliage 50 to 90 cm and width up to 80cm when established.
Care: Grows best in partial shade in rich well drained soils. Can tolerate light frosts. It is native to the warmer coastal areas of the Caribbean.
Uses: It is an excellent plant for ground cover, borders, or rockeries in shade or part-shaded areas and hanging baskets. Mass plant for impact along borders and pathways.
Plants available: The plants offered are offsets from flowering size plants. They are currently growing in 75mm pots and will establish quickly.
