The Cinnamon myrtle (backhousia myrtifolia) is a native rainforest tree that was popular in the late 1980's as bushtuker. It has attractive bunches of small cream flowers with cinnamon scented leaves when rubbed or crushed. Ideal for feature planting, street trees, privacy hedges, native and wildlife gardens. Can add flavour to curries, soups, stews and also the leaves can be used for a herbal tea. Grows to 3 metres in a home garden.
